The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC QHB120 is a single-pole, 20-amp miniature circuit breaker designed for bolt-on installation in NQ Series panelboards. It operates at 120/240 volts AC at 50/60 Hz and carries an interrupting rating of 65 kiloamperes at 120/240 VAC, meeting both UL and CSA approval standards. The breaker uses thermal magnetic tripping, providing overcurrent and short-circuit protection in branch circuit applications. A built-in Visi-Trip indicator visually confirms a tripped condition, speeding up troubleshooting during service calls. Licensed electricians install this breaker as part of new construction or panel upgrades in residential and light commercial settings.
The QHB120 is suited for branch circuit protection across a range of load types including appliances, air conditioning equipment, heating systems, lighting circuits, and refrigeration equipment. It is specifically rated for switching 120 VAC fluorescent lighting loads. The bolt-on design secures the breaker firmly to the bus in NQ Series panelboards, making it a direct fit for that enclosure family. Accepted wire sizes run from 14 to 8 AWG for aluminum or copper conductors, and up to two 14 to 10 AWG copper conductors, providing flexibility for various wiring configurations in the field.
Designed for bolt-on installation in NQ Series panelboards. Confirmed applications include appliance, air conditioning, heating, lighting, and refrigeration equipment branch circuits.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the panel before installing or replacing any circuit breaker. Verify that conductor size and material match the breaker's rated wire range before terminating. Do not exceed the panelboard's listed interrupt rating or bus ampacity when selecting breaker placement.
