The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LR3D22 is a thermal IEC overload relay rated for 16 to 24 amps at up to 690 VAC. It protects motors and connected loads from sustained overcurrent conditions by sensing thermal changes in the circuit. When current exceeds the set threshold, the relay trips and interrupts the control circuit before damage occurs. Rated Trip Class 10A, it is designed for use in motor control assemblies and industrial control panels. Electricians and industrial controls technicians install this relay as part of a motor starter assembly or standalone overload protection circuit.
The LR3D22 is intended for use with LC1D25 and LC1D38 contactors, making it a direct-fit component in those motor starter configurations. It is suited for three-phase motor protection in commercial and light industrial applications where IEC-standard components are specified. The relay mounts directly to the contactor body, keeping the assembly compact. Typical applications include pump motors, fan motors, conveyor drives, and other three-phase induction motor loads requiring reliable overload protection.
Designed for direct use with Schneider Electric LC1D25 and LC1D38 contactors as part of an IEC motor starter assembly.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with IEC motor starter assemblies and applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before mounting or wiring the relay. The relay mounts directly to the contactor body and connects through the contactor terminal interface. Set the current adjustment dial to match the full-load amperage of the motor being protected before energizing.
