The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LR3D14L is a 3-pole thermal NEMA overload relay rated for 7 to 10 amps at up to 690 VAC. It provides motor overcurrent and phase-loss protection by sensing thermal conditions across all three poles and tripping when sustained overload is detected. Designed to Trip Class 20, the relay allows motors with higher inertia loads sufficient start-up time before tripping on a fault. The LR3D14L is sized for NEMA 00 through 1 contactor frames and is a direct-mount accessory installed by licensed electricians or qualified controls technicians on motor-starter assemblies.
This relay is suited for light-duty industrial and commercial motor control applications where a three-phase motor must be protected against overload conditions. Common installations include small pump motors, fan motors, and conveyor drives operating within the 7 to 10 amp service range. The LR3D14L mounts directly to compatible LC1D-series contactors, making it a standard component in assembled NEMA motor starter panels. It is appropriate for both new installations and field replacement of worn or failed overload elements in existing starter assemblies.
Designed for direct mounting on Schneider Electric LC1D-series contactors: LC1D09, LC1D12, LC1D18, LC1D25, LC1D32, and LC1D38.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the motor control panel before mounting or replacing the overload relay. Verify that the motor full-load amperage falls within the relay adjustment range before setting the trip dial. Do not bypass or jumper the overload contacts during commissioning.
