The relay uses a bimetal thermal sensing element to respond to heat buildup caused by excess current draw. Trip Class 10A defines the maximum trip time under locked-rotor conditions, making this relay suited for loads that start quickly. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians typically install this device as part of a motor starter assembly.
The LR3D07 is designed for use in motor control applications where an IEC-style contactor and overload relay combination is required. It is specified for use with the LC1D09 through LC1D38 family of contactors, covering a range of small to mid-size motor starters in both residential and light commercial or industrial control panels. Typical install scenarios include pump motor starters, fan motor starters, and conveyor drive assemblies where motor protection is required by electrical codes.
