The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LA4KA1U is a contactor suppressor module designed to reduce electromagnetic interference and voltage transients generated when a contactor coil de-energizes. Installed directly onto a compatible contactor, the module absorbs or dissipates the energy spike that occurs at coil dropout, protecting nearby control circuitry and extending the service life of the contactor itself. Measuring 1.6 inches in length, 1 inch in width, and 0.4 inches in height, this compact accessory integrates cleanly into panel layouts without adding significant bulk. It is installed by licensed electricians and industrial controls technicians working on motor control and automation panels.
This suppressor module is intended for use in motor control centers, automation control panels, and industrial switching applications where coil-generated transients pose a risk to sensitive control devices. It mounts directly to the contactor body, making it a clean, integrated solution rather than a field-wired external component. It is suitable for both new installations and field retrofits on compatible contactor families.
Designed for use with SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC LC1, LP1, and TeSys K contactors.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and the panel manufacturer's documentation. De-energize and lock out the control panel before installing or replacing this module. The module snaps or clips directly onto the contactor coil terminals — verify the correct mounting orientation before seating. Do not apply power to the contactor until the suppressor module is fully seated and secured.
