The SCHLAGE ELECTRONICS SCANIIW is a passive infrared (PIR) motion detector designed for access control and security applications in commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential settings. It detects occupant movement by reading changes in infrared energy across its detection field, triggering door release or alarm outputs as part of a broader electronic access control system. The unit ships as a single device in a white finish, measuring 6.6 inches in length, 2.8 inches in width, and 1.8 inches in height, making it compact enough for standard door frame or wall surface mounting. Installation is performed by licensed security or low-voltage electricians.
The SCANIIW suits interior access points where hands-free egress or occupancy detection is required. Typical applications include vestibules, corridors, and controlled entry zones in office buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, and multi-family common areas. The white finish integrates cleanly into standard commercial interior environments. It is sold individually and is intended for use within a complete electronic access control or alarm system rather than as a standalone device.
Designed as an OEM-style component for use within electronic access control and security systems requiring passive infrared motion detection input.
The SCANIIW should be installed by a licensed low-voltage electrician or certified security technician in accordance with NEC low-voltage wiring requirements. De-energize the access control panel and any connected door hardware before wiring or mounting the detector. Position the unit at the manufacturer-recommended height and angle to achieve the intended detection coverage area. Do not install in locations with direct sunlight exposure or near HVAC supply registers, as thermal interference can affect PIR sensor accuracy.
