The SCHAEFER BRUSH 43385 is a double stem spiral tube brush designed for cleaning the interior surfaces of tubes, pipes, and cylindrical openings. Built with tempered steel wire bristles, it delivers aggressive scrubbing action capable of removing scale, deposits, and debris from metal surfaces. The brush measures 6.5 inches in diameter with a 4.5-inch brush length and a 7.5-inch overall length. It connects via a 1/4-inch male NPT fitting, making it compatible with standard threaded drive handles and extension rods. Licensed tradespeople and maintenance technicians working on heat exchangers, condensate lines, boiler tubes, and similar systems will find this tool suitable for routine cleaning tasks.
This tube brush is suited for industrial and commercial maintenance applications where tube inner diameters near 6.5 inches require mechanical cleaning. It is commonly used during scheduled maintenance on large-bore piping, heat exchanger shells, and process equipment. The 1/4-inch male NPT connection allows the brush to thread directly onto compatible drive shafts or extension handles, enabling reach into deep tube sections. Tempered steel wire construction makes it appropriate for use on steel, cast iron, and other ferrous tube materials.
Designed for use with standard 1/4-inch NPT threaded drive handles and extension rods. Suitable for cleaning large-bore ferrous and metal tubes in industrial and commercial maintenance applications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified maintenance technicians or licensed tradespeople. Before use, de-energize, depressurize, and isolate the system or tube section being serviced according to applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Thread the brush onto a compatible 1/4-inch NPT drive handle by hand before applying power drive to avoid cross-threading. Inspect bristles before each use and replace the brush if the wire fill is bent, splayed, or reduced in diameter, as a worn brush will not clean effectively.
