The SCHAEFER BRUSH 42956 is a single stem, single spiral tube brush constructed with Tampico fiber bristles and designed for cleaning the interior of tubes, pipes, and cylindrical passages. The brush measures 3 inches in diameter with an overall length of 8 inches and a brush length of 4.5 inches. A 1/4 inch male NPSM threaded connection allows the brush to be coupled to extension rods or standard cleaning equipment handles. Tampico fiber is a natural agave-based filament well suited for general-purpose scrubbing, light deburring, and surface finishing in applications where softer, absorbent bristle action is preferred over wire or synthetic alternatives.
This tube brush is commonly used by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and maintenance professionals for cleaning heat exchanger tubes, condenser tubes, drain lines, and pipe bores. The single spiral construction wraps bristles uniformly around the stem for consistent contact along the full brush length. It is appropriate for residential and light commercial service applications where tube or pipe inner diameters are sized to accept a 3 inch brush. The 1/4 inch NPSM male thread allows direct connection to standard rod and handle systems used in tube cleaning setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement tube brush for use with standard 1/4 inch NPSM rod and handle cleaning systems in residential and commercial tube cleaning applications.
Installation requires no special tools beyond attaching the brush to a compatible 1/4 inch NPSM extension rod or handle. Ensure the threaded connection is hand-tight and secure before use to prevent the brush from separating inside the tube. When cleaning heat exchanger or condenser tubes, shut down and isolate the system from power and fluid flow before inserting the brush. Inspect bristles for wear or fiber loss before each use and replace the brush when bristle density is reduced.
