The SCHAEFER BRUSH 14610 is a brass long handle wire tube brush designed for cleaning the interior of tubes, pipes, and small-bore passages. The brush head measures 3 inches in length with a 3/4-inch diameter and features a single-spiral fill pattern using 0.006-inch brass wire filaments. The 15-inch overall length gives technicians reach into deeper ports and heat exchanger tubes without additional extensions. Brass fill material is non-sparking and resistant to corrosion, making it well suited for use on copper, brass, and soft metal tube interiors. The 0.188-inch brass shank connects directly to a drill or manual handle.
This tube brush is commonly used by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and refrigeration mechanics for cleaning tube sheets, condenser tubes, heat exchanger passages, and threaded ports prior to soldering, brazing, or inspection. The single-spiral construction provides consistent bristle contact along the bore wall. At 15 inches OAL, it reaches into tight assemblies where shorter brushes fall short. It is equally useful in light industrial maintenance applications where bore cleaning or scale removal from small-diameter tubing is required.
Designed as a general-purpose tube brush for cleaning 3/4-inch diameter bores in copper, brass, and soft-metal tubing found in HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing applications.
This brush is installed and operated by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and maintenance mechanics. When using with a power drill, secure the shank firmly in the chuck and run at low speed to avoid bending the stem or flaring the bristles. Shut off and isolate any system pressure before inserting the brush into live piping or heat exchanger tubes. Inspect the brush for worn or broken wires before each use and replace if filament integrity is compromised.
