The SCHAEFER BRUSH 14410 is a stainless steel long handle wire tube brush designed for cleaning the interior surfaces of tubes, pipes, and small-bore fittings. The brush head measures 3/4 inch in diameter and 3 inches in length, with a 15-inch overall length that allows access to deep or hard-to-reach passages. Individual wire filaments are 0.007 inches in diameter, wound in a single spiral configuration around a single stem wire. The stainless steel fill material resists corrosion and stands up to chemical cleaning agents. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters use this type of brush to remove scale, debris, and oxidation from tube interiors before brazing, flaring, or reassembly.
This tube brush is suited for light to moderate cleaning in residential and commercial service applications. It works in copper, steel, and similarly sized plastic tubing common to plumbing rough-in, HVAC refrigerant line work, and hydronic piping. The 15-inch handle gives technicians the reach needed to clean tube ends and short straight runs without additional extensions. The shank diameter is 0.188 inches, compatible with standard drill chucks for power-driven use or used by hand for controlled manual cleaning.
Designed for use in tubes and pipes with an inner diameter close to 3/4 inch, typical in copper refrigerant lines, plumbing supply lines, and hydronic system components.
Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters typically use tube brushes as part of surface prep before brazing or mechanical joining. Shut off fluid supply and depressurize any line before cleaning. When using with a power drill, secure the shank firmly in the chuck and operate at low speed to maintain control. Do not force the brush into openings smaller than its rated diameter, as this can distort the bristle spiral and reduce cleaning effectiveness.
