The SANDVIK COROMANT 8248835 is a spiral flute tap in the CoroTap 300 series, designed for threading M8 metric holes in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from cobalt high speed steel with a straw finish, it produces right-hand internal threads to a 6H class of fit with a D6 thread limit. The semi-bottoming (modified bottoming) chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes. With a 15-degree helix angle, the flute geometry evacuates chips effectively during tapping operations. This tap is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production and job-shop environments.

The 8248835 is suited for tapping M8 x 1.25 mm pitch threads across a broad material range including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The three spiral flutes provide balanced cutting action and reliable chip evacuation in both through-hole and shallow blind-hole applications.
