The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037586 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.5 inch mill diameter, 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius, this single-end cutter delivers controlled material removal and edge integrity on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The 3-flute geometry paired with a variable helix and variable index design reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and tool life. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides thermal resistance and lubricity, extending performance in demanding cuts. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in job shop and production environments.
The 8037586 belongs to the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series and is suited for milling operations requiring corner protection and smooth floor finishes. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, making it adaptable to ramping and helical interpolation toolpaths in addition to conventional peripheral milling. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard 1/2 inch collet or end mill holders. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard. This end mill is appropriate for use on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where close-tolerance profiling and contouring are required.
Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series, rated for material grade N1BZ. Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch end mill holders or collet chucks on CNC and manual milling platforms. Confirm holder runout and clamping torque specifications per machine and holder manufacturer guidelines before use.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the collet or chuck for wear before use, as runout beyond acceptable limits will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish.
