The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037584 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.5 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius, a 1.625 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with variable helix and variable index reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides enhanced wear resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in non-ferrous and light alloy applications. This is a single-end, centercutting tool from the CoroMill Dura series, suited for CNC machining centers and milling applications where consistent edge quality and tight tolerances are required.
This end mill is well suited for milling operations on non-ferrous materials, aluminum alloys, and other materials corresponding to material grade N1BZ. The 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER collets, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Its centercutting capability supports plunge and ramping operations. The CoroMill Dura series is designed for shops running high-speed finishing and semi-finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series. Designed for use with standard 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical toolholders including ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks on CNC milling machines and machining centers.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine spindle stopped and energy isolated per local lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is clean and the toolholder is within manufacturer runout specifications before tightening. Confirm proper tool projection and stick-out to minimize deflection during high-speed operation. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the specific work material.
