The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037574 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.5 inch diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and three flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, this tool delivers controlled material removal and a consistent edge finish on non-ferrous metals and similar workpiece materials. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating reduces friction and improves wear resistance in high-speed cutting conditions. Part of the CoroMill Dura series, this end mill features variable helix and variable index geometry designed to reduce chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations where edge quality and tool life are priorities. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and slotting in addition to peripheral and profile milling. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard collet and end mill holders at 0.5 inch bore. It is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills across aerospace, automotive, and general precision machining shops. The material grade designation N1BZ indicates suitability for non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, copper, and brass alloys.
Designed for use in standard 0.5 inch bore collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Material grade N1BZ targets non-ferrous workpiece materials per CoroMill Dura series application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended for the holder type, and torque clamping screws to the holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish.
