The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037573 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in metalworking and machining operations. It features a 0.50-inch diameter cutting edge with a 0.03-inch corner radius and three flutes ground from solid carbide for rigidity and wear resistance. The tool carries a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in non-ferrous and general-purpose applications. With a right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral, it suits standard CNC machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in demanding contouring and finishing operations where edge integrity and corner accuracy are critical.
This end mill belongs to the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series and is suited for milling operations on aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials (material grade N1BZ). The 5/8-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length make it a practical choice for shallow-to-medium-depth pocket milling, contouring, and profiling on vertical machining centers and similar CNC equipment. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry where the application demands it. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced rather than flipped when worn.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines that accept a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Optimized for non-ferrous material grades per SANDVIK COROMANT material grade designation N1BZ within the CoroMill Dura series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use; a damaged edge can affect dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
