The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037396 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding metal-cutting applications. With a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.0150 inch corner radius, and three flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration, this tool delivers smooth cutting action and extended tool life. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration during cutting, making it well suited for finishing passes and contour milling. The bright uncoated finish on the H10F carbide grade allows it to perform in a wide range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, die and mold, and general machining environments will find this tool relevant to close-tolerance work.
This end mill fits standard 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank collets and toolholders common on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. The 1.25 inch length of cut and 3.0 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth pocket milling, slotting, and profile work. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled start hole. The CoroMill Dura series is engineered for stable performance in both roughing and semi-finishing passes where corner integrity is critical.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout on a corner radius end mill will accelerate edge wear and degrade surface finish.
