The SANDVIK COROMANT 8037378 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in demanding machining environments. With a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius, this tool generates a controlled edge break or radius blend on workpiece features while reducing stress concentration at the tool corner. The three-flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation, and both variable helix and variable index construction help suppress harmonic vibration during extended cuts. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, mold, and die applications.
This end mill suits single-end milling operations where a corner radius profile is required on slots, pockets, contours, or stepped features. The straight-cylindrical 3/8-inch shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. It is part of the CoroMill Dura series and carries a material grade designation of H10F, indicating suitability for hardened and difficult-to-machine steels as well as general-purpose machining.
Designed as an OEM-specification CoroMill Dura series end mill suitable for standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state before tool changes. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended gauge-line depth in the holder and that the collet nut or clamping screw is torqued to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping before each setup. Follow the tooling manufacturer's recommended feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the specific workpiece material to avoid premature edge failure.
