The SANDVIK COROMANT 8036807 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the CoroMill Dura series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 11.13 mm (0.438 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.09 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The AlTiN coating provides heat and wear resistance, making this cutter well suited for aggressive cuts in hardened steels, stainless steels, and similar difficult-to-machine alloys. With 5 flutes, a variable helix, and a variable index design, it delivers improved chip evacuation and reduced chatter. This tool is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for use in precision milling applications where edge integrity and surface finish are critical. The single-end, centercutting geometry allows for both plunge and side milling operations. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.438 inch diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction conform to conventional CNC milling setups. It is suited for slot milling, profiling, and finishing passes in aerospace, die and mold, and general machining environments. Material grade X1BH indicates suitability for ISO-P and ISO-K workpiece materials at elevated cutting parameters.
This tool belongs to the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Dura series with material grade X1BH. It is designed for use in standard straight-bore end mill holders and ER collet systems accepting a 0.438 inch shank diameter. Consult SANDVIK COROMANT tooling catalogs for verified holder and adapter pairings.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Use a torque wrench and manufacturer-specified collet or holder to secure the shank — do not overtighten or use worn holders, as this affects runout and tool life. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before each use and discard any tool showing chipping or edge breakdown. Always verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against the SANDVIK COROMANT published cutting data for this grade and coating before running production.
