The SANDVIK COROMANT 8036219 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the CoroMill Dura series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1/8 inch corner radius, and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, with four flutes ground to a variable helix and variable index geometry. The AlTiN coating supports elevated cutting temperatures and extends tool life in ferrous and hard materials. At 3 inches overall length with a straight-cylindrical 3/8 inch shank, this end mill mounts directly in standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders. It is a single-end, centercutting tool capable of both axial plunging and peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling of steel, stainless steel, and hardened alloys in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, making it a practical choice for profiling, slotting, and pocket milling where sharp internal corners are not required. Material grade X1BH and the CoroMill Dura series designation indicate suitability for a broad range of ISO P and ISO M work materials. Machinists in aerospace, mold and die, and general precision machining will find this tool appropriate for medium to high cutting data strategies.
Designed as an OEM-specification CoroMill Dura series end mill compatible with standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic toolholders used in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before inserting or removing the end mill. Confirm that the shank is clean and free of burrs before seating in the holder, and torque the collet nut or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning a cut.
