The SANDVIK COROMANT 8035581 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the CoroMill Dura series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 5.56 mm (0.219 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.018 inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge and improves surface finish on workpiece corners. The three-flute geometry, combined with a variable helix and variable index design, helps reduce harmonic vibration and chatter during cuts. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in precision metal-removal applications.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on ferrous and hardened materials in both production shop and job-shop environments. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry as well as standard peripheral and slot milling. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard 1/4 inch collet chucks or end mill holders. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are consistent with standard CNC machining center setups. Material grade X1BH indicates suitability for a range of workpiece materials requiring a tough, wear-resistant carbide substrate with AlTiN coating protection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard cutting tool for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening to prevent runout. Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant application appropriate to the workpiece material.
