The SANDVIK COROMANT 8021318 is a CNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This insert carries the ISO designation CNMG 16 06 08-WM 4415 and is manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN. The 80-degree diamond shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry, and the WM chip breaker is optimized for steel turning applications. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard CNMG toolholders. Insert thickness is 0.250 inches with a corner radius of 0.0313 inches. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators performing turning, facing, and profiling operations.
The 8021318 is intended for use on steel workpieces as its primary application, with a secondary suitability for K-category materials per ISO classification.
