It carries ISO designation VBMT 11 02 08-UF 4415 and features a 35-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation. The insert is manufactured from carbide substrate and coated via CVD process with a multilayer TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN stack. Grade 4415 is optimized for cutting steel. The 0.0313-inch corner radius suits general finishing and semi-finishing passes. Holding is compatible with both clamp and screw-style toolholders. This insert is intended for turning steel workpieces, with secondary suitability indicated by material code K. It is part of the VBMT-UF chip breaker series, which is configured for controlled chip formation in finishing and light semi-finishing cuts. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and profiling on horizontal and slant-bed CNC lathes. The UF chip breaker geometry supports lower cutting forces, making it appropriate for tighter tolerance workpieces and setups where vibration must be minimized.
