The SANDVIK COROMANT 8019569 is an RNMG-style solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ISO designation RNMG 09 03 00 4425 and features a triple-layer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN applied over a carbide substrate. The round insert shape (Shape Code R) provides maximum edge strength and allows full rotation of cutting positions. The 0.375-inch inscribed circle and 0.1875-inch corner radius suit medium to roughing-depth passes. A neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable to both left- and right-hand toolholders.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining steel workpieces, making it well suited to general turning, facing, and profiling operations in job shop and production environments. The 4425 grade, combined with the CVD multilayer coating, delivers thermal resistance and wear resistance during continuous and mildly interrupted cuts on low-alloy and carbon steels. Secondary workpiece material code K also indicates suitability for cast iron applications. The 00 chip breaker designation reflects a neutral, open geometry appropriate for a range of feed rates and depths of cut.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for RNMG-style toolholders and cartridges that accept a round carbide insert with a 0.375-inch inscribed circle. Verify toolholder bore diameter and clamping method against the insert thickness of 0.125 inches before installation.
Turning insert replacement is performed by a machinist or CNC technician with the spindle stopped, the machine in an e-stop or lockout/tagout state, and all axis motion disabled. Use the correct torque wrench and insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the clamp screw. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Never force an insert into a pocket with a damaged or worn seating surface.
