The SANDVIK COROMANT 7861263 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on steel workpieces. Carrying the ANSI insert code TCMT433 and ISO designation TCMT 22 04 12-PR 4425, this insert belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series and is engineered for roughing and medium machining applications. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of Al2O3, TiCN, and TiN, which delivers high wear resistance alongside moderate toughness. The 60-degree diamond-shaped triangular geometry and positive side clearance support efficient chip control and reliable cutting performance on steel. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this consumable insert.
This insert is suited for turning operations on steel materials (ISO P-code workpieces) where high wear resistance to moderate wear resistance and toughness are required. It is used in both roughing and medium machining passes on CNC lathes and turning centers. The PR chip breaker geometry is optimized for steel turning across a range of depths of cut and feed rates. The insert is held in place by clamp or screw-style toolholders compatible with TCMT-style pockets. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in TCMT-style toolholder pockets within the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series. Accepts clamp or screw holding methods. Fits toolholders specified for ANSI insert code TCMT433 or ISO insert code TCMT220412.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench for screw-style holders and follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for clamping force to avoid insert fracture.
