The SANDVIK COROMANT 7861110 is a TCMT-style indexable turning insert built for precision external turning operations. Manufactured in grade 4425 solid carbide and coated via CVD with a multilayer Al2O3, TiN, and TiCN stack, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal protection during continuous and semi-interrupted cuts. The neutral hand orientation and 60-degree triangle geometry provide three usable cutting edges per insert. With a 5/32-inch (3.97 mm) inscribed circle and a 0.40 mm corner radius, this insert is sized for light-to-medium finishing and semi-finishing passes. It belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series and carries ISO code TCMT 06 T1 04-UF 4425.
This insert is designed primarily for machining steel (ISO material code P) and secondarily for cast iron (ISO material code K). The UF chipbreaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts at lower depths of cut and feed rates, producing controlled chip formation on steel workpieces. Typical applications include OD turning on CNC lathes and turning centers where consistent surface finish and tight dimensional tolerances are required. It is seated using a clamp or screw holding method, compatible with TCMT-format toolholders.
Designed for use in TCMT-format toolholders compatible with the CoroTurn 107 series. Suitable for clamp or screw holding methods. Primary workpiece material is steel (P); secondary workpiece material is cast iron (K). Consult toolholder documentation to confirm pocket geometry and clamping compatibility before indexing.
Indexable insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not estimate. Ensure the insert seats fully and evenly in the pocket before resuming cutting operations.
