The SANDVIK COROMANT 7861045 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the manufacturer grade designation 4425 and is coated via CVD process with an Al2O3, TiN, and TiCN multilayer coating applied over a solid carbide substrate. This combination targets steel and cast iron workpiece materials, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at medium to high cutting speeds. With a 1/4 inch inscribed circle, a 1/32 inch corner radius, and a PF chip breaker geometry, the insert is suited for finishing and light-to-medium roughing passes where controlled chip evacuation is critical.
This insert belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series and is intended for use in compatible TCMT insert pockets on turning tool holders. It fits applications in general-purpose steel turning (ISO material group P) and cast iron turning (ISO material group K), including both residential and industrial machine shop environments. The neutral hand designation makes it interchangeable across standard TCMT-compatible holders. It is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in TCMT-compatible turning tool holders within the CoroTurn 107 series. ISO code TCMT 11 03 08-PF 4425. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P); secondary workpiece material is cast iron (ISO code K).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw specified by the tool holder manufacturer — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excess clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
