The SANDVIK COROMANT 7781835 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. It measures 6.60 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a dual-layer TiAlSiN/TiSiN coating that provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The overall length is 126.00 mm (4.96 inches) with an 84.00 mm (3.31 inches) flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8.00 mm (0.31 inches) in diameter and is dimensioned to DIN 6535HA specification. Two spiral flutes and a coolant-through design support chip evacuation and heat management during deep-hole operations.
This drill is suited for CNC machining centers and drilling operations in production environments where consistent hole quality in hard or abrasive workpiece materials is required. The 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio accommodates deeper drilling passes without tool change. The Series 860-GM is engineered for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is typically installed and used by machinists and tooling technicians in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking shops.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank per DIN 6535HA. Compatible with workpiece materials designated under material codes P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous metals), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard materials). Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT Series 860-GM, sized within the 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm diameter range.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following standard CNC tooling procedures. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the 8.00 mm shank diameter before operation. Verify coolant-through supply lines are active and at the correct pressure before engaging the spindle, as interrupting coolant flow in deep-hole drilling can cause premature coating failure or chip packing. Do not use this drill in hand-held or non-CNC applications; it is designed for rigid, machine-held setups only.
