The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564560 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for metal cutting applications in CNC and manual milling operations. Part of the N331.1A series, this rectangular insert carries a tri-layer CVD coating - TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN - applied in that sequence to deliver heat resistance, wear resistance, and surface lubricity across a range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 11.50 mm wide and 4.95 mm thick, with a 0.80 mm corner radius and a neutral hand orientation. It is installed via screw-holding and suits positive-rake toolholder setups. Machining professionals and CNC operators in job shops and production environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material grades P40, M40, and K40. The rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle and four cutting edges makes it well-matched to shoulder milling and pocket milling operations where consistent edge life and predictable wear are priorities. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.5394 inches. The chip breaker designation is PL, which is optimized for moderate-to-heavy chip loads in interrupted and continuous cuts on the listed workpiece materials.

This insert is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians using a torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw - follow the toolholder manufacturer's specified fastening procedure. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert, as contamination causes premature edge failure. Index to the next cutting edge or replace the insert when visible wear, chipping, or surface finish degradation is observed on the workpiece.
