The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564456 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in R210 series face and shoulder milling cutters. Manufactured to grade 4340 with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding cutting operations. The square insert geometry features a 10-degree positive rake angle, a corner-rounded cutting edge style, and a 1.40 mm corner radius. With four usable cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it suits high-productivity indexable tooling setups. Machining professionals and toolroom technicians specify this insert for steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications.
This insert is intended for use in R210 series milling cutter bodies and is suited for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Material grade ratings of P40, M40, and K40 indicate suitability across a broad range of ferrous and alloyed materials. The PM chip breaker geometry supports stable chip control at moderate to aggressive feed rates. Typical installation scenarios include CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where indexable carbide tooling is used for face milling, shoulder milling, and pocket milling operations.
Designed for use with R210 series milling cutter bodies. ANSI and ISO catalog designation is R210-14 05 14E-PM 4340. Insert size code is 140514.
Installation and indexing of milling inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seating procedure when securing the screw-held insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Always verify insert orientation and edge engagement before resuming cutting operations.
