The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564425 is a square-shaped, solid carbide milling insert in manufacturer grade 4340, designed for indexable face and shoulder milling operations. It carries a triple-layer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, a combination that delivers thermal resistance and wear protection across a broad range of metalcutting conditions. The insert measures 0.5118 inches inscribed circle diameter and 0.1988 inches thick, with a 0.0315-inch corner radius. It features a negative rake angle of 24 degrees and a double-sided configuration, providing 8 usable cutting edges per insert. HVAC and plumbing tradespeople do not install this part; it is used by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC or manual milling applications.
The 7564425 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and K and material grades P40, M40, and K40. It is part of the SANDVIK COROMANT Series 345 tooling system and is intended for use in shoulder milling and face milling setups requiring controlled chip formation. The PM chip breaker geometry supports medium to roughing cuts in these workpiece materials. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and is designed for right-hand cutting direction.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT Series 345 milling cutter bodies. ANSI and ISO code: 345R-1305M-PM 4340. Cutter series compatibility: 345. Insert size code: 1305.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key as specified for the cutter body to tighten the clamping screw to the cutter manufacturer's seating procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and runout control.
