The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564381 is a solid carbide milling insert engineered for use in R390 series face and shoulder milling cutters. Carrying manufacturer grade 4330 and a CVD-applied TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN multilayer coating, this insert is built for productive cutting in steel and cast iron applications. It features a parallelogram shape with a right-hand cutting orientation, two usable cutting edges, and a positive rake angle of 17 degrees. The corner radius measures 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm) and the insert thickness is 0.1875 inches. Insert holding is by screw clamp. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians working with R390 cutter bodies select this insert for reliable chip control through its PM chip breaker geometry.
This insert is intended for milling operations on steel and cast iron workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with R390 series cutter bodies and conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under code R390-17 04 08M-PM 4330. Typical applications include shoulder milling, face milling, and ramping passes where a positive-rake insert reduces cutting forces and thermal load on the workpiece. Material grades P30, M30, and K30 define the recommended workpiece hardness and material range for this insert.
Designed for use with R390 series milling cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI and ISO code R390-17 04 08M-PM 4330. Recommended for primary workpiece materials steel (P) and cast iron (K) within material grades P30, M30, and K30.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC operators or toolroom machinists. Secure the insert with the appropriate screw clamp torqued to the cutter body manufacturer specification found in the R390 cutter documentation. Ensure the cutter body seat and clamp pocket are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Never exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.6299 inches as stated in the technical data.
