The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564348 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in Series 490 face and shoulder milling cutter bodies. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards under catalog designation 490R-140408M-PL 4330, this square-shaped insert carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN. The 4330 manufacturer grade corresponds to material application grades P30, M30, and K30, making it suitable for productive cutting in steel and cast iron. With a positive rake angle of 26 degrees and a corner-rounded cutting edge style, it is engineered for consistent chip control using the PL chip breaker geometry. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling professionals install this insert in production and job-shop milling operations.
This insert is intended for use in Series 490 milling cutter bodies where the 490R-140408M-PL geometry is specified. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P-class) and cast iron (K-class). The right-hand, single-sided configuration with four cutting edges suits high-volume facing, shouldering, and profiling operations on CNC machining centers. The screw-clamping insert holding method provides secure seating under interrupted and continuous cut conditions.
