The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564332 is a solid carbide square milling insert designed for high-productivity metal removal in demanding cutting applications. Manufactured to grade 4330 with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear protection across a broad range of cutting conditions. It carries an inscribed circle of 8.50 mm (0.3346 inches), a thickness of 3.30 mm (0.1299 inches), and a corner radius of 0.40 mm (0.0157 inches). The insert size code is 490R-08T304M-PL 4330. It is a single-sided, right-hand insert with a positive rake geometry and a PL chip breaker, suited for screw-held toolholders in the 490 cutter series.
This insert is intended for use in the SANDVIK COROMANT 490 series milling cutter bodies. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material groups P and K. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and pocket milling in both production shop and job shop environments. The four cutting edges and corner-rounded cutting edge style support consistent performance across roughing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in metalworking operations are the primary installers and users of this insert.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT 490 series milling cutter bodies that accept the 08T304 insert seat size. ANSI and ISO code: 490R-08T304M-PL 4330. Rated for ISO material groups P30 (steel), M30 (stainless), and K30 (cast iron).
Insert replacement is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque without over-torquing the insert pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid edge chipping prior to use.
