The SANDVIK COROMANT 7231504 is a WNMG432-QM 2220 series turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. This solid carbide insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The trigon (W) insert shape provides an 80-degree included angle and six usable cutting edges per insert, improving tooling economy. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch insert thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert suits medium to finishing turning passes. The QM chip breaker geometry is optimized for stainless steel and other difficult-to-machine ISO M materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible T-Max P toolholders.

This insert is primarily intended for turning stainless steel and ISO M-class workpiece materials in production and job-shop environments.
