The SANDVIK COROMANT 7193311 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the H10F uncoated grade designation, this insert belongs to the CoroCut QF series and features a QFU insert style with a neutral hand orientation. The cutting width measures 0.1574 inches with a corner radius of 0.0078 inches (0.20 mm). Its bright, uncoated carbide construction makes it well-suited for applications where coating residue or heat buildup would compromise surface finish or dimensional accuracy. It is installed using a clamp-style holder and is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists working in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is engineered primarily for cutting non-ferrous metals, with an ISO workpiece material code of N. Secondary applications include superalloys and titanium, designated by ISO code S. The GF chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation in these materials. The CoroCut QF series is a modular grooving system used in both external and face grooving configurations on precision turning equipment. Typical applications include O-ring grooves, snap-ring grooves, and narrow parting operations in aerospace, automotive, and general precision machining.
Designed for use with CoroCut QF series clamp-style grooving holders accepting QFU-H insert style. Verify holder compatibility against ISO code QFU-H-0400-02-GF H10F before installation.
Installation and tool change should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the holder manufacturer — do not over-torque the clamp. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating the insert. Confirm cutting width and corner radius match the programmed toolpath before resuming operation.
