The SANDVIK COROMANT 7100927 is a solid carbide round milling insert in grade 1130, designed for high-performance face and profile milling applications. It carries an AlTiCrN coating applied via PVD process, which provides thermal stability and wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, a thickness of 0.1875 inches (4.76 mm), and 8 cutting edges in a neutral hand orientation. The positive rake geometry and rounded cutting edge style reduce cutting forces and improve surface finish. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators install this insert in compatible toolholders for production and job-shop milling operations.

This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials — covering ISO material codes P, M, N, S, and H. It is applicable in both production and general-purpose milling environments, including roughing and finishing passes where a round insert profile is preferred. The PM chip breaker geometry is engineered for versatile performance across these material groups. Installation Notes

This insert is installed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Before changing inserts, power down the spindle and engage the machine lock or e-stop per shop safety protocols. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools on the insert screw. Index to a fresh cutting edge whenever flank wear, chipping, or surface finish degradation is observed.
