The SANDVIK COROMANT 6906945 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for shoulder and face milling operations in demanding production environments. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards under the designation R390-11 T3 12E-PM 1130, this insert features an AlTiCrN coating applied via PVD process, which delivers strong thermal and wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert geometry is parallelogram-shaped with a positive rake angle of 25 degrees and a right-hand cutting orientation. Two usable cutting edges and a corner radius of 1.20 mm make it well suited for moderate-to-aggressive material removal in precision milling setups. Maximum depth of cut reaches 10.00 mm.
This insert is intended for use in professional CNC milling applications across ferrous and non-ferrous materials including steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The PM chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during face milling and shoulder milling passes. Compatible with the R390 cutter series and M-32 tooling systems, this insert is a standard fit for production shops, tool rooms, and contract machining operations where consistent insert performance across material grades P, M, N, S, and H is required. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping sequence and confirm insert seating is fully flush before resuming cutting operations.
