The SANDVIK COROMANT 6532912 is a hydraulic tool chuck designed for CAT40 taper spindles in CNC machining centers. It uses hydraulic clamping to grip cutting tools with high concentricity and consistent holding force, reducing runout and improving surface finish in precision milling and boring operations. The chuck projects 90 mm from the spindle face, features a 42 mm nose diameter, and is balanced for operation up to 18,000 RPM. Overall length is 158.40 mm. The unit weighs 3.38 pounds. Installation and removal are handled by machining center operators or CNC setup technicians.
This hydraulic chuck is suited for high-speed precision machining applications in both production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with CAT40 spindle interfaces found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 90 mm projection length provides clearance for deep-pocket milling and fixturing scenarios where standard-length holders create interference. The 1.6142-inch clamping depth accommodates a range of straight-shank cutting tool shanks. This chuck is appropriate for facilities running tight-tolerance work where runout control and balance are critical requirements.
Designed for use with CAT40 taper spindle machining centers. Accepts straight-shank cutting tools within the clamping depth range of 1.6142 inches. Refer to SANDVIK COROMANT tooling documentation to confirm bore diameter and tool shank compatibility before ordering.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified CNC setup technician or machinist. Power down and lock out the machining center spindle before mounting or removing the chuck. Use the correct CAT40 retention knob and drawbar torque specification as defined by the machine tool builder. Do not exceed the rated balance speed of 18,000 RPM, and inspect the hydraulic clamping port and sealing surfaces for contamination or damage before each use.
