The SANDVIK COROMANT 6532130 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the CoroCut 1-2 series, designed for precise external grooving and parting operations on CNC turning centers and lathes. Manufactured to insert style N123x2 in size H2, it features a TiCN/Al2O3/TiN multilayer coating applied via MT-CVD process, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. The cutting width is 4.00 mm (0.1575 inches), the cutting height is 4.35 mm (0.1713 inches), and the maximum depth of cut reaches 23.40 mm (0.9210 inches). The insert carries manufacturer grade 4325, a coated carbide grade suited for steel and cast iron. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians.
The 6532130 fits CoroCut 1-2 toolholders and is appropriate for external grooving, face grooving, and parting-off applications in production machining environments. Its neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand and left-hand setups depending on the holder configuration. The TM chip breaker geometry supports positive rake cutting action, helping to control chip formation in medium-depth grooving passes. Typical applications include groove-to-depth operations on steel shafts, hydraulic component bodies, and similar turned parts in both job-shop and high-volume production settings.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut 1-2 series toolholders accepting H2 insert seat size. ISO code N123H2-0400-0008-TM 4325 identifies the exact holder pocket and insert specification required.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before torquing the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for the insert size, and confirm coolant delivery is directed at the cutting edge when machining at elevated cutting speeds.
