The SANDVIK COROMANT 6532091 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the ISO code N123G2-0318-0003-GM 4325, this insert carries a multi-layer MT-CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN that delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted or continuous cuts. The cutting width is 0.125 inches (3.17 mm), and the maximum depth of cut reaches 0.7087 inches (18 mm). A neutral hand orientation and a 7-degree rake angle suit a wide range of workpiece materials. Machining professionals and toolroom technicians specify this insert for production grooving where consistent geometry and long tool life are required.
This insert fits the CoroCut 1-2 series toolholding system and is suited to grooving, parting, and turning operations on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials in production and job-shop environments. The GM chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in medium-duty cutting conditions. The insert seat size is G, and the insert is rated for a maximum depth of cut range of 0.3000 to 1.0000 inches (10 to 20 mm), making it applicable across a broad spectrum of groove widths and depths in a typical CNC turning cell.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut 1-2 series toolholders accepting G-seat inserts. ISO catalog reference is N123G2-0318-0003-GM 4325.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and all motion locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert firmly into the toolholder pocket and secure with the appropriate clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating method. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating to ensure proper contact and geometry. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut or feed rate parameters established during process setup.
