The SANDVIK COROMANT 6259425 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to Series 1B230 standards, it features a 2.00 mm diameter cutting head with a 1.00 mm nose radius, a 6.00 mm length of cut, and a 30-degree medium helix angle. The AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, extending tool life when cutting ferrous and high-temperature materials. With two right-hand spiral flutes and centercutting capability, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single-end configuration. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC tool operators in precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. The 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard collet and toolholder systems sized for that diameter. At 38.00 mm overall length with a standard length type and no extended reach, it is appropriate for short-reach pocketing, contouring, and profiling operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances are required.
Compatible with standard collet chucks and toolholders accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material designations P, M, K, and S. Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT Series 1B230 solid carbide ball end mill line; manufacturer catalog number 1B2300200XA1630.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the specified gauge-line depth before torquing the clamping mechanism. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning the operation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter end mills. Power down and lock out the spindle before any tool change.
