The SANDVIK COROMANT 6255484 is a hydraulic tool chuck designed for precision machining applications on CNC machining centers and milling machines. It uses a C6 modular connection shank, allowing fast, repeatable tooling changes on compatible interfaces. The chuck grips cutting tools through a 12 mm hole diameter and delivers a 142 mm projection from the spindle face, making it suited for deep-reach operations. Hydraulic clamping provides consistent, even gripping force around the tool shank, reducing runout and improving surface finish. The unit supports through-coolant delivery and is balanced for operation up to 20,000 RPM. Installation and tool changes are performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians.
This chuck is intended for use in high-speed machining environments where runout control and tool stability are critical. The 142 mm projection accommodates setups that require extended reach into deep cavities or past workpiece fixtures. Through-coolant capability directs cutting fluid directly to the tool tip, improving chip evacuation and extending tool life in demanding materials. The 36 mm clamping depth and 22 mm nose diameter are suited to standard tooling shanks within the 12 mm bore range. Typical applications include aerospace, die and mold, and precision part machining where consistent performance across high spindle speeds is required.
Designed for use with CNC machining centers equipped with a C6 modular tooling interface. Compatible with cutting tools with a 12 mm shank diameter within the 36 mm clamping depth range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and all stored energy released. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for torquing modular connection components. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and properly aligned before operation. Inspect the hydraulic chuck for clamping pressure integrity and runout before running at elevated spindle speeds.
