The SANDVIK COROMANT 6136043 is a DNMG-style solid carbide turning insert with a manufacturer grade of GC15 and a dual-layer TiAlN and AlCr2O3 coating. Designed for use in indexable turning toolholders, this insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 1/2-inch (0.5000 inch) inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0313 inch) corner radius. The GC15 carbide grade combined with the TiAlN and AlCr2O3 coating stack supports extended tool life in demanding turning applications. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and CNC turning operators working on metalcutting lathes and turning centers.
This insert is suited for external and internal turning operations on lathes and CNC turning centers. The DNMG form factor with chip breaker style G is appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes where controlled chip formation and surface finish are priorities. The 55-degree diamond shape provides a sharp, narrow profile for profiling cuts and contour turning operations. Compatible toolholders must accept the DNMG insert style with clamp and pin holding methods as indicated by the insert designation.
Designed as a replacement-style DNMG turning insert for indexable toolholders accepting DNMG 15 06 08 inserts with clamp and pin clamping. ISO code DNMG 15 06 08-XM GC15. Verify toolholder seat and clamping system compatibility before installation.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC turning operator with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before handling tooling components. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert correctly against the pocket. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, wear, or damage before indexing or replacing the insert. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines during tooling changeouts.
