The SANDVIK COROMANT 6035663 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the CoroDrill 870 series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in metal-cutting applications. The drill body accepts 870-1390-13-PM insert tips at insert seat size 13, covering a drill diameter range of 13.5 to 13.99 mm (0.5315 to 0.5508 inches). Maximum drill depth reaches 72.11 mm (2.839 inches), representing a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The steel body features through-coolant capability to support chip evacuation and tool life at depth. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 6035663 drill body fits the CoroDrill 870 toolholder style 870 LX-5 platform and is suited for drilling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where indexable, replaceable-tip geometry is preferred over solid carbide or brazed configurations. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks or hydraulic toolholders. With an overall length of 135 mm (5.315 inches) and a flute length of 84.86 mm (3.341 inches), this body fits a wide range of machining center setups requiring mid-range diameter, moderate-depth drilling.
Compatible insert style: 870-1390-13-PM. Designed for use with the CoroDrill 870 platform, toolholder style 870 LX-5, at insert seat size 13. Drill diameter range 13.5 to 13.99 mm.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before inserting or removing the replaceable tip, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per shop LOTO procedures. Verify insert tip seating and torque the tip retention screw using the appropriate Torx or hex key per the tool manufacturer's assembly instructions included with the insert. Confirm through-coolant supply pressure and flow are compatible with the machine tool and toolholder before running at depth.
