The SANDVIK COROMANT 5937346 is an indexable boring bar from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built from steel with a 5/8-inch shank diameter and an 8-inch overall length, this toolholder accepts TCMT 21.51 inserts secured by screw clamping. The minimum bore diameter is 0.7717 inches (19.60 mm), making it suited for tight-bore applications where precise, repeatable cutting geometry is required. The neutral rake angle and 0-degree lead angle support stable, consistent material removal. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician is the typical installer.
This boring bar is configured for right-hand cutting and is suited to both boring and external turning applications, as the multi-use designation indicates. It is appropriate for use in production and job-shop environments where CoroTurn 107 series tooling is already in use. The coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management in continuous cutting cycles. The single-insert configuration keeps setup straightforward on gang-tool or turret-style lathes. Typical applications include finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel, cast iron, and similar machinable materials.
Designed for use with TCMT 21.51 inserts. Compatible with standard 5/8-inch shank toolholder seats on CNC lathes and turret setups. Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series toolholder family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician familiar with indexable toolholder systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or seating the toolholder. Confirm insert seating and screw torque according to the toolholder manufacturer documentation before resuming cutting operations. Verify shank clamping force and coolant-through line connection before running the first pass.
