The SANDVIK COROMANT 5857607 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert engineered for precision internal Stub Acme thread cutting. Part of the CoroThread 266 series, it carries a PVD-applied TiCrAlN/TiN coating that resists heat and wear during continuous threading operations. The insert is configured for right-hand cutting at 8 threads per inch with a 60-degree included angle. With a 3/8-inch (9.53 mm) inscribed circle and a thickness of 5/32 inches (3.97 mm), it fits standard 266-series holders designed for that IC size. Manufacturer grade 1135 and chipbreaker designation F make this insert suited to medium-duty threading on common ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This insert is intended for internal Stub Acme threading applications on CNC lathes and turning centers in production machining environments. Threading inserts of this type are installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert without cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw threads for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
