The SANDVIK COROMANT 5853549 is a solid carbide round milling insert in grade S30T, designed for demanding metal-removal applications in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which supports heat resistance and edge durability at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert follows the RCKT 19 06 00-PM S30T designation per both ANSI and ISO standards. It features a positive rake geometry, a 7-degree relief angle, and a PM chip breaker profile. With 8 cutting edges on a single-sided, neutral-hand body, this insert is intended for use by machinists and CNC tooling specialists working with high-performance milling cutters.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and copy milling operations on stainless steel and high-temperature superalloys and titanium in both production shop and job-shop environments. The round insert shape provides a full 360-degree included angle, making it effective for continuous and interrupted cuts where edge strength is a priority. It is compatible with the RA200 cutter series. The insert is held in place by a screw-mount method, standard for RCKT-style toolholders. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with the RA200 cutter series. ANSI and ISO code RCKT 19 06 00-PM S30T. Fits RCKT-series toolholders using screw-mount insert retention. Primary workpiece material compatibility: stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver for the insert screw to avoid seat damage or screw failure — refer to the cutter body manufacturer specification for torque values. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
