The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765682 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert engineered for use in compatible 880-series indexable drill bodies. Designated with the 880LM chipbreaker style and manufacturer grade 1044, this insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering excellent wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding drilling operations. The square insert shape has an inscribed circle of 14.85 mm (0.5846 inches) and a thickness of 0.1772 inches. A corner radius of 0.80 mm (0.0315 inches) supports controlled chip formation and edge stability across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is intended for use in metal-cutting operations where indexable drilling with carbide tooling is required. It is suited for production environments including job shops, aerospace, and general machining facilities where consistent hole quality and insert longevity are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers and users of this insert in horizontal and vertical machining center applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for SANDVIK COROMANT 880-series indexable drill bodies accepting 08C square inserts with the LM chipbreaker designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and de-energize the machine tool before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or insert-clamp wrench specified by the drill body manufacturer to seat the insert correctly — do not overtighten or use improvised tools. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
