The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765605 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for use with compatible 880-series indexable drills. It carries the H13A uncoated grade and the LM chipbreaker geometry, making it suited for drilling operations where a bright, uncoated carbide edge is preferred, such as when working with cast iron or other materials where coating adhesion is not required. The insert measures 0.2913 inches inscribed circle diameter and 0.1102 inches thick, with a 0.0276-inch corner radius. Installation and replacement are performed by licensed machinists or toolroom technicians during scheduled insert changes on CNC or manual drilling equipment.
This insert is intended for use in metal-cutting and machining environments, specifically within 880-style indexable drill bodies that accept a square insert with a 0.1102-inch hole diameter and an insert size designation of 04P. It is appropriate for production drilling in both job shop and high-volume manufacturing settings. The LM chipbreaker promotes controlled chip formation, which is particularly useful in through-hole and blind-hole drilling applications where chip evacuation is a concern.
Designed as a replacement insert for 880-series indexable drill bodies that accept a square 04P insert with a 0.1102-inch hole diameter. Specific drill body compatibility should be confirmed against the drill body manufacturer specifications before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully powered down and all spindle motion stopped. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the drill body manufacturer when seating and torquing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the insert grade and chipbreaker combination.
