The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765394 is a CoroDrill 880 series indexable insert drill designed for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. It accepts two 880-series inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of approximately 4.09 inches (104 mm) with a drill depth-to-diameter ratio of 5xD. The 20 mm (0.9843 inch) cutting diameter and 25 mm (0.9843 inch) Weldon Flat Flange shank make it a standard fit for CNC machining centers and milling machines. Coolant-through capability is integrated via axial concentric entry, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in continuous drilling operations. The steel body construction is engineered for rigid performance across a range of workpiece materials.
This drill is suited for production and job-shop environments requiring reliable indexable tooling in the 20 mm diameter range. It is appropriate for horizontal and vertical machining centers running right-hand cutting operations. The 5xD depth capability allows deeper holes without secondary operations in many common drilling scenarios. Typical applications include structural steel, cast iron, and general engineering alloys. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling setup technicians.
Compatible with 880-series indexable inserts, specifically insert style codes 040305 and 0403W05, including 880-040305H-C-GM and 880-0403W05H-P-GM. Insert lock screw part number 5513 020-58 applies. The Weldon Flat Flange shank is compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 25 mm shank diameter.
Installation and insert indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing inserts or mounting the drill body in the toolholder. Use the specified insert lock screw (5513 020-58) and appropriate Torx or Torx Plus driver as recommended by the insert manufacturer for insert seating. Verify coolant-through channels are clear and coolant supply is connected at the spindle before running at depth.
